However, the starting price on this models is still almost double that of many other companies basic model. The next cheapest model is the B series, which is designed primarily for business. The remaining Sony notebook computer lines, while having lots of great features, are certainly not aimed at the value conscious. The S series is designed for those who want a slightly lighter and smaller laptop than the FS or B series. The T series are even lighter and smaller than the S series and are for those who really want maximum portability. Finally, the A series is designed for those who need very graphics intensive applications such as advanced computer games. In the end though all of these features are unnecessary for most people. One more thing I should note about the Sony Vaio laptop computer lines are that they are the newer Centrino lines. Some stores are still selling new Sony notebook computers with Pentium 4 chips, which are listed under different brand names. However, I strongly recommend against those, since they feature much shorter battery lives than Centrino notebooks, and are on average about the same price.
